One late afternoon, this shell which I keep stored in a glass display case, was awash with the colors of the rainbow. The sun's light had penetrated into the space and the glass acted as a prism splitting it into its gorgeous colors and falling directly on this lightning whelk. I captured the serendipity of the moment and have turned it into an image with the message, "Look for the Treasures that Life's Storms Wash Ashore," mindful that even the most devastating conditions can produce some beautifully unexpected results. That is a good thought to hold onto as this New Year, 2019, begins today. Happy New Year to all and may everyone find wondrous treasures in the difficult storms that batter life.
