Like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-- whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:3 (When I went to Mass this morning, I was drawn to the stained glass window depicting Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus while Martha is working in the background. The sun was shining so beautifully through the glass, and it reminded me of the verse from the first Psalm about a tree planted beside a stream. I was determined to depict both ideas in one image so after returning home, I scoured through my photo files and found a picture I took of the window in 2014. I experimented with different layers, added a tree and a flowing stream and hopefully achieved my goal of marrying Psalm One with the image in the stained glass of Jesus teaching Mary. May we all be like trees planted near streams of living water!
