I photographed this antebellum home, Houmas House, along the River Road in southern Louisiana. There were heavy rains prior to my visit, so I took advantage of the standing water on the lawn to capture the home's reflection in the temporary pool that had formed there. Houmas House is in Darrow, Louisiana, between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

I am a retired high school English teacher who loves photographing nature with wild birds as my main interest. I live in southwestern Louisiana and enjoy the plethora of wildlife and waterfowl indigenous to the area; I also love landscape shots of the swamplands and marshes and wetlands of our state.
