I photographed these Eastern bluebirds in my back yard. For a while, the juveniles, are actually bigger than the parents as is evident here. They eat so much and are not active hunters yet, so I guess that explains the size factor at this stage. I love their speckled feathers which eventually change to the typical bluebird plumage as they mature.
I am a retired high school English teacher who loves photographing nature with wild birds as my main interest. I live in southwestern Louisiana and enjoy the plethora of wildlife and waterfowl indigenous to the area; I also love landscape shots of the swamplands and marshes and wetlands of our state.
